Berkshire Bats

In November 2024, the Friends of Ray Mill Island along with Bershire Bats association installed Bat boxes on the island.

Join us for a Batty Evening on Friday 27th June and again on the August 15th – Berks & South Bucks Bat Group installed 13 bat boxes as part of the Friends of Ray Mill Island philosophy of increasing biodiversity of fauna and flora on the island.

So this evening we will walk and talk with Claire Taylor who heads this project and see if we find any new batty neighbours on the island.

🦇 Monitoring Tips: The Berks Bats team will also show us how to monitor bat activity safely and effectively—no climbing required unless you’re licensed or insured!

💸 Free Event: This event is completely free, but if you’d like to support future projects, donations to Friends of Ray Mill Island or memberships with Berks Bats or Wild Maidenhead are always appreciated.
